Women at the Helm
Date: Saturday, June 19, 2010 (make-up date in case of rain Saturday, August 7, 2010)
Time: 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Place: Wayzata Yacht Club

Details: Women at the Helm is MWST's signature event to connect women sailors with each other. The on-the-water training is with a veteran female instructor aboard a J/22 sailboat. Women at the Helm is ideal for intermediate or advanced sailors -- those interested in refreshing and refining their boat handling skills.

Cost: $80 members/$100 non-members
(includes 4-hr on-the-water training, t-shirt, and Saturday dinner)

Registration: Women at the Helm limits enrollment to ensure a quality experience with opportunities for individual instruction. Space is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Contact Jenny at

May 2010 Trainings


Beginner Lessons
Date: Mondays May 3, 10, 17 (make-up date in case of rain May 24)
Time: 6:30 - 8:30/9:00 p.m.
Place: Wayzata Yacht Club

Description: Always wanted to sail, but never knew where to start? Join MWST for a 3-part introduction to life on the water. You'll learn the basics of sailing including boat parts and terminology, safety, boat handling, and more.
Lessons are taught by MWST members with advanced sailing experience. Sessions are on-the-water in a J/22 keelboat so participants should dress for the weather.

Cost: Monthly or Annual Membership ($70 or $200 respectively)

Registration: Enrollment is limited to ensure a quality experience with opportunities for individual instruction. Contact Susan at training@mwst.org to register.



Intermediate Lessons
Date: Tuesdays May 4, 11, 18 (make-up date in case of rain May 25)
Time: 6:30 - 8:30/9:00 p.m.
Place: Wayzata Yacht Club

Description: Continue to improve your boat handling skills in this 3-part series.
Focus is placed on refining techniques in the various positions on the boat - trimming, foredeck, and driving. Advanced boat maneuvers will also be covered. Lessons are taught by MWST members with advanced sailing experience. Sessions are on-the-water in a J/22 keelboat so participants should dress for the weather.

Cost:
Monthly or Annual Membership ($70 or $200 respectively)
